Reiley Heffern (she/her)

I am an undergraduate researcher in the MU Division of Biological Sciences. My interests include genetics, disease models, and disease inheritance.

I’m from St. Louis, MO and am a senior biological sciences major here at Mizzou. Outside of the King Lab, I work as a Peer Navigator for the MU College of Arts & Science and as an at-home, Nespresso-enthusiast barista. After graduation, I plan to pursue a degree in genetic counseling!

Currently, I’m investigating how variation in the presenilin gene (associated with family-inherited Alzheimer’s disease) affects the severity of disease phenotype.
